Metal Buffing

The continuing search for a quality product has led the company to set up a department dedicated to buffing. This allows us to correct and timely intervention, so as to achieve the highest quality and finishes.
The conduct of the cleaning, which is done by applying the piece against an abrasive moving, naturally depends on the initial state of the metal surfaces to be coated. In principle, to pass from a raw material (with roughness), not classifiable between the parts, in a perfectly clean material (mirror), the necessary mechanical operations can thus be divided:

Grinding

It is carried out with hard disks made from natural or artificial agglomerates of abrasive. You have “bulk” proper, or wooden disks covered with leather, or disks of hard felt, bearing, bonded, emery coarse (corn SO, 70, 60, 50 according to the American scale). With this transaction are removed the most irregular bumps and macroscopic due to mergers or previous mechanical treatments (burrs, lumps, growths, etc.).

Brushing and polishing

It is achieved with various brush types applied to the cleaners, or use hand. They may be in plants or in metal wires (brass, stainless steel, nickel, etc.).
After grinding, for the preparation of the ferrous material to the glossy nickel plating, or to facilitate the dressing of opaque metal deposited, it is very advantageous to proceed to brushing with wheels vegetable wires soaked emery, fine-grained mineral oil, or palm olein. The vegetables most used wire brushes are in Tampico, grass cultivated in Mexico. The aim of treatment with “tampico” is to standardize the streaks left by previous grinders. orienting them towards a single direction. The uniformity that results facilitates subsequent treatments of polishing. There are “tampico” brushes ring and spiral continuous said strip; the latter have a compact and uniform brushing surface.
various effects of the satin finish and opacification is, the surfaces may carry out brushing in certain directions with metal wires variously lubricated wheels, with or without abrasives. By the thickness of the wires it depends on the success of a given surface appearance.

Frosting

The frosting of metals is a very important phase, in which the workpiece is machined with accuracy and precision by the operator, working initially with abrasive grits to large and gradually more and more purposes, up to reach an appropriate level of smoothness. It can be made dry or humic by emulsifying water. Dry sanding will be done if the particular must then be protected with transparent varnish.

Sandblasting

There are several methods for the cleaning of metals, but blasting is one of the most effective to date in that the metallic grit is thrown on the workpiece to be cleaned so asportandone, in a single processing step, the surface layer that covers it (calcifications, galvanized or plastic coatings, mechanical machining oils, oxide, old paint, cementing, oil and grease, laminations, etc.) by abrasion exerted by the jet of metal grit and air.
The sandblasting is a very important operation in the preparation of the surfaces because it allows excellent adhesion to the subsequent coating, the surface cleaning of the metals, may be carried out on any type of surface such as iron, steel, aluminum, cast iron or other metal alloys, surfaces zinc, wood (wood beams to highlight the veins, for the restoration or renovation of old furniture, balconies, tables, chairs …), marble, stone (for the rough effect and lived in the stone) and glass.

We also do: Bonding, Glazing and Disassembly.
